*유리공예 [ El Ultimo Grito ] Collapscapes

At Design September in Brussels, El Ultimo Grito will present Collapscapes – a series of fictitious industrial spaces that expand on the designers’ existing Imaginary Architecture series.

Four glass works, Chemical Plant, Mine Shaft, Super Collider and Gas Depot, look at industrial architecture and the contraction (or collapse) of industrial sites that follows increasingly mechanised production.  Through their convoluted glass sculptures, the designers ask us to imagine how these imaginary spaces might be inhabited and navigated.

As well as the glass works, El Ultimo Grito will present 3D maps, drawings, films and a small publication that further explore their narrative.

Collapscapes will be on show at Design September until 15 September, Rue de la Senne 19, B1000 Brussels. A later version will be on display at the Design Project Room, HEAD-Genève.
