그리스 지중해의 코발트 블루와 뜨거운 햇살 그리고 자연속에 푹 파무친 듯한
섬머하우스는 여름휴가 뿐만아니라 심신의 피로를 풀기 위한 훌륭한 자연환경을 하우스 내부로
유입시킵니다. 더욱이 언덕배기 끝자락에 위치한 배산임수의 배치-경사진 지형을 따라
3개의 레벨로 공간, 층은 대지에 밀착됩니다.-는 전면에 바다를
내부로 유입시키는 파노라마 뷰포인트를 구성합니다.
솔리드와 보이드의 연속적인 내부의 공간 흐름은 내부와 외부를 구분하는
동선축을 따라 공용공간-거실,식당,주방-과 개인공간-각 침실-을 정렬시키며
전면 바다와 하우스 사이에 에어 테라스를 형성합니다.
-테라스에 서서 끝없이 펼쳐지 수평선을 보고 있으면
격자로 막힌 도시에서는 느낄 수 없는 자유를 느낄 수 있겠죠?-
그리고 섬머하우스를 대지와 더욱 밀착시키는 지역적 재료의 선택은
건축가가 바라보는 대지에 대한 존중과 이해에서 시작된 최상의 구축론이
아닌가 싶습니다.
무엇보다 매력적인 것은 눈앞에 아무런 거스름없이 펼쳐진 지중해의 수평선을
바라 볼 수 있다는 것이 아닐까 싶습니다.

greek firm lmarchitects has recently completed the 'vacation house', a single family summer residence near monemvasia, greece. positioned upon a steep slope, the tiered building offers dwellers a panoramic view to the adjacent sea. organized into three levels to accommodate the terrain, the interior circulation passes through solid and void spaces. rooms are arranged along an implied axis of movement encouraging continuity between indoor and outdoor areas.
combined living, dining and kitchen areas parallel the main entry path and provide vistas to the ocean from an open air terrace. the building's materials introduce a relationship with tradition, predominantly the choice of stone, emphasizing a strong sense of place, along with fair faced concrete and hacked plaster. wood accents found within the deck flooring and door panels of the home complement the permanent exterior appearance.
