폰티 스포츠 컬리지는 공원내 스포츠 시설간의 중요한
연계지점으로 각 공간들을 링크시킨다. 2200명의 학생들을 위한 다양한 스포츠 시설은 국제 수영센터를 포함한
각종 인도어 스포츠 센터로 구성된다. 이러한 내부 프로그램은 건축볼륨에 다양한
크기로 건축화한다. 그중 그라운드 레벨의 퍼블릭 스페이스는 외부자연환경과의
접점을 최대한 유지하는 오픈플랜으로 계획, 외부환경을 내부로 유입시키며
공원 속으로 동조된다. 그리고 상층부의 다양한 볼륨을 마감하는 벽돌의
솔리드함과 대조를 이루며 전체 건축물을 지면으로 들어 올리는
시퀀스를 형성, 스포츠 센터의 캐릭터를 부여한다.
특히 내부 다양한 스포츠 활동을 이미지화하여
표현한 그래픽은 단순하면서도 벽돌이 가지고 있는 장점을
살리는 유용한 건축디자인으로 보인다.

The first step has been made in turning the sport park into a sport
estate with the new Fontys Sports College coming to Eindhoven’s Genneper
Parks. Mecanoo’s design for the new Fontys Sports College creates an
important link in the network of sport accommodations and facilities in
Genneper Parks.
Starting in 2012, 2200 students and teachers will make daily use of
sports facilities in their own building, including the National Swimming
Centre, the Tongelreep and the Indoor Sports Centre.
Fontys Sports College, with state of the art sports facilities and a
comprehensive sustainability concept, will house Fontys Sports
College’s three curricula which are currently housed at the Sittard and
Tilburg locations.
