Esrawe Studio-Xinú Marsella
esrawe and cadena compose circular wooden pavilion for xinú’s fragrance boutique in mexico
Xinú Marsella, a fragrance and home scent brand inspired by the abundance of The Americas, reveals its new boutique by Esrawe Studio and Cadena Concepts in the flourishing Juarez neighborhood of Mexico City. Transforming a former car mechanical workshop into a retail space, the unconventional design departs from typical norms. The concept centers on gifting a garden to the neighborhood, breathing life into a vacant space by seamlessly blending nature, design, and architecture to create a holistic experience. The boutique serves as a green oasis in the city, immersing visitors in a unique environment where distinctions between public space, retail, and lush surroundings subtly dissolve.
The collaborative team by Esrawe Studio and Cadena Concepts explores an introspective design approach, bridging the gap between urban life and the natural world. A wooden pavilion, symbolizing innovation and generosity, gracefully occupies the lot. Surrounding this architectural piece is a living garden, a testament to the brand’s dedication to plants and nature. The pavilion, supported by an authentic brand narrative, unfolds as a contemplative journey, inviting guests to explore a universe characterized by simplicity and the fragrant symphony of nature, alongside Xinú’s distinctive products and scents.
The radial axis of the wood pavilion guides visitors through a sensorial journey, connecting with the surrounding garden. This arrangement allows the periphery to fully embrace the botanical realm, creating correlations between scents, candles, incense, home products, and the vibrant landscape. Beyond being a store, the pavilion showcases the synergy between handmade luxury, nature, design, and craftsmanship embedded in the olfactory arts.
