하늘 저 구름 한조각을 사로 잡습니다.

스카이 캐쳐 하우스 외벽에는 창문이 없습니다. 외부에서는 내부가 어떻게 생겼는지 알 수 없습니다.

메인 출입구에 디자인된 격자문을 통해 진입한 내부 공간은

가운데 하늘로 열린 중정을 기점으로 플로워 투 실링 글래스로 내부로 열린

주거공간이 중정을 감싸고 있습니다. 이러한 주거공간의 각 개실은

베란다와 외부와 관계속에서 조정되며 중정과 소통합니다.

스카이 캐치 하우스가 이야기 하고 싶은 것이 무엇일까요?

제목처럼 하늘을 한폭의 프레임으로 담아 내는 중정을 극대화 하기 위함 일까요?

단지 그것뿐만은 아닐껍니다. 도심 속 자연과의 조우를 기대하기 힘든 상황에서

할 수 있는 가장 현명한 선택이 아닐까 싶습니다.

the 'sky catcher house' by japanese architect kazuhiko kishimoto of acca is immersed within atsugi, a typical residential suburb in the kanagawa prefecture of japan. encompassed by a collection of one and two storey structures, the dwelling's square footprint and simple windowless elevations conceal any hint of the interior arrangement from onlookers. upon passing through the lattice door at the main entry, inhabitants are welcomed with an open courtyard bordered by living spaces enclosed with floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
the wooden planks which wrapped the exterior facade are continued on the ground plane. trees emerge from the floor through circular voids to mark a path as well as create a garden setting.

the placement of rooms aims to achieve a long and linear circulation around the court. the bedrooms and living rooms are adjacent to the veranda and are only accessible from the outdoors. traditionally, outdoor corridors are essential to maintain a connection with all four seasons, offering dwellers a pleasant change from the static internal environment. staying true to the name of the home, the height of the roof is kept to a minimum to maximize views to the sky from the interior.
