Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class lounge at JFK Airport was conceived as an environment to celebrate both the power and possibility on New York City, and the excellence and irreverence of Virgin Atlantic Airways. It is an urban oasis, entered into beneath a glittering waterfall and bounded by a 90ft. long pool which accommodates dining along its interior bank. Screen walls enclose the bar and seating areas, addressing both the lounge’s need for privacy and intimacy and the airport’s requirement to preserve a sense of openness to the runways beyond.
