This small and cosy restaurant in the coastal Lithuanian city of Klaipėda has really caught our eye with its dark colour palette and clean-cut lines. ‘Momo Grill’ restaurant was designed by Ramūnas Manikas, an interior designer, graphic designer and photographer who graduated some ten years ago from the Vilnius Academy of Art. Manikas
(who is also responsible for the logo and signage of Momo Grill)
applied a well-thought out interior solution to the rather small venue,
paying particular attention to the combinations of colours and textures:
black Scandinavian chairs and furniture frames create an almost sensual
contrast as they are set against the white tiles of the walls, while
the coarsely-sanded plywood on the tables adds an interesting texture to
the otherwise sleek interior. As a finishing touch, various indoor
plants and other domestic items on the shelves give a sense of
traditional hospitality and warmth. Momo Grill was completed in 2013,
and is situated in an old building on Liepų street, right in the heart
of the city.
