Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen has created a cast-concrete lamp as part of a range of designs for Italian brand Flos.
Presented at this year's Milan design week, the concrete lamp features a rounded top, giving it a resemblance to a recently rereleased light by architect Le Corbusier.
The collection also includes tall and short versions of I-shaped and C-shaped pieces, which are available in a range of materials including oxidised bronze, concrete, cast iron and coated aluminium.
All the designs are intended for outdoor use, and include hidden LEDs covered by diffusing glass to allow for "optimal light distribution
The structures of the I- and C-shaped lamps comprise a die-cast aluminium base, while the metal is extruded to form the heads.
"The aluminium alloy used for the die-casting has a low copper content to enhance resistance to corrosion," said Flos.
