Erbalunga estudio have designed Le Crêpe da Pía, a creperie in Tui, Spain, that combines original old stone and new, contemporary design elements.
Located within the old medieval part of the city, the stonework from that time has been left untouched, while a service counter has been added at the front of the creperie, making it easy for someone to quickly buy something and continue walking around the streets.
Further inside, the wood slats that were used to cover the front of the service counter, have also been used to create seating against the stone wall.
A steel frame travels from the floor and wraps onto the ceiling, allowing for additional wood slats be mounted, and to create a place for the lighting to hang, without having to install them into the ceiling. Simple white chairs with light wood table tops complement the overall design of the creperie.
