A nursery is a special place where so much playing and dreaming begins, therefore we’re proud to present this fun and creative space designed by Elin Hjemli to you all today. Her son Gillis had a bit of a bumpy start in life as he was born four months early and the family, who lives in Norway, had to spend over four month in hospital. Today he is a strong one year old adventurer, enjoying a jungle themed space with lots of fun details to get inspired by.
All the items are so perfectly chosen in this nursery, layered in just the right amount of texture and interest. The very first item Elin bought was the cute giraffe by H&M, standing next to the crib as a friendly guardian. Her other must-haves for the nursery were all the animal patterned items by Done by Deer and their green furniture that fitted the theme perfectly.
Elin also knew she wanted to make a nursery that Gillis could enjoy for a long time, without changing it too much as he grows up. Therefore the green bed by Done by Deer will remain as it converts from a cot to a junior bed and the changing table will be used as a dresser. Some of the cuddly toys might be replaced by other “big boy” toys though, such as cars and action figures.
