Architects: Köppen Strauch Architekten
Location: Leichlingen, Germany
Project Area: 600 sqm
Project Year: 2008-2009
Photographs: Tomas Riehle
Situated on a gentle hill this house overlooks the small city of leichlingen in western germany near cologne. with its precise shape and its reduced materials its creating a contrast to the mediocre buildings around. the open space of the groundfloors allows the owners a generous living on two floors with a total amount of 600 squaremeters.
A handmade brick ( torfbrandklinker) was choosen for the facade to give a contrast to the simple cubature of the building. in combination with the reflections of the big windowopenings the house really fits into the green surrounding.
