*호숫가 별장 [ UUfie ] Lake Cottage in Ontario, Canada

건축 스튜디오 UUfie가 제안하는 트리하우스는 자연과의 합성된 이미지 창출과 이를 충족시키는 한적한 교외 별장이 캐나다 호수, 길다란 숲을 따라 위치한다. -자연과의 동기화를 통해 자연 속으로 사라지지만 고유한 캐릭터는 유지하는 거주공간을 구현을 목표로 한다.- 이를 위해 테라스 에 설치된 거울과 수많은 오프닝은 주변 나무들을 투영하는 매개체로 외부환경을 내부로 흡입시킨다. 이렇게 흡입된 내부, 주 생활공간은 벽난로 제외한 무지공간으로 7미터 높이의 박공지붕과 14개의 오프닝(내외부를 밀착시키는)으로 디자인된다. 비워진 내부, 채워진 외부를 통해 거주자는 자연 속에 남겨진다.

A study on evanescence and merging with nature, the idiosyncratic Lake Cottage by architecture practice UUfie was designed to give the sense of living in a tree house. Situated in a forest along the Kawartha Lakes in Canada, the cottage blurs the limits between the inside and the outside through its numerous openings and mirrors on the terrace that reflect the surrounding trees. The main living space boasts a seven-metre-high gabled roof and fourteen openings to other parts of the house and the exterior which in itself is a feature that strengthens the impression of living amongst the branches of a tree.

A solid-wood staircase leads up to an unconventionally diagonal loft, its one side covered with light blue tiles that resemble large fish scales (diagonal lines are perhaps the most prominent feature of the cottage’s overall design). The whole house has been constructed using local materials and traditional techniques, an example being the charred cedar planks that cover the exterior walls.
