*도쿄 로프트 [ Ryohei Tanaka,G architects studio ] Tokyo loft

도쿄 중심부, 고속도로로 부터 한블럭 떨어진 오래된 저층형 아파트먼트, 그 상층부(다락)에 새로운 유니크 아파트먼트가 재구성된다. 이는 건축주가 요구하는 도시생활의 편리한 이점을 위한 선택으로(경제적인 가격으로 입지적인 특징을 만족하는) 기울어진 천장과 마감없는 실내를 가진 37년된 아파트먼트의 다락을 통해 구현된다. 여기 기울어진 천장은(보는 시각에 따라 단점보다 장점이 더 많은) 푸른 하늘과 넓게 펼쳐진 도시전경을 바라 볼 수 있는 뷰포인트와 자연채광을 위한 장치로 제공, 공간의 특별함을 배가시킨다. 그리고 줄곧 숙박을 위해 사용된 다락에 호텔과 같은 컨셉을 적용, 거주자를 위한 유니크 스페이스를 디자인한다. 앞서 말한 기울어진 천장을 포함하는 인더스트리얼 인테리어와 일본 전통 문양 벽지 'washi'를 모티브로 하는 페인팅이 노출콘크리트면에 시공, 거주공간을 특별하게 만든다.

This unique apartment is located in the very heart of Tokyo, inside a low-rise apartment complex, one block from a major highway.

The client had been searching for a convenient location in central Tokyo and found this thirty-seven year old apartment located in the attic of the building complete with long, sloping ceilings and a raw interior.

The sloped ceilings have been converted into a skylight allowing in natural sunlight with a wonderful unobstructed view of the city. Since this apartment is to be used for accommodation purposes, we took the unique character of the apartment and added a hotel-like atmosphere.

In order to achieve harmony between the industrial attic interior and a welcoming hotel-like atmosphere, soft painting techniques that resembles traditional Japanese paper called “Washi” are used on the surface of the raw concrete walls and ceilings. This original texture is created with resin sheets that are normally used as slip-proof mats under carpets. These mats are cut to A4 size, attached to the interior walls and spray-painted. Once the sheets are removed, it appears to be the texture of traditional Japanese Washi paper.
