뮌헨 럭셔리 호텔 bayerischer hof의 특별한 라운지를 위한 캠프파이어.

german design studio hans and franz combines romanticism with pure utility in ‘campfire’ for luxury hotel bayerischer hof in downtown munich. the project includes a series of six custom-made canopied benches, and two centered fireplaces. the permanent installation serves as an outdoor bar and meeting place for guests, and the public as well.

construction is accomplished using 10mm aluminum sheet machined post powder-coat. this was done to emphasize the materiality of each bench, as well as for the sake of the studio’s concise design philosophy. each bench weighs a total of 270kg (595lbs), which safeguards visitors from the wind.

in the center of the rotunda are the fireplaces, also custom-created for the project by HAF. the pieces visually pair with the benches, with the obvious addition of large glass encasements to see the fire, and a perforated stainless steel front panel for access. ‘campfire’ is also equipped with limited edition reflective cushions and thermo blankets, designed in a cooperative effort with italian fashion label stone island. lastly, are the menu cards, which feature silkscreen printed text on an anodized aluminum piece.
