in central tokyo, local firm general design has completed a plant-filled office for a creative agency. measuring just over 200 square meters, the project allows the company’s staff to congregate and engage in various tasks, while allowing for natural communication. the design team removed the space’s existing ceiling and floor finishes, in order to expose the 50-year-old-building’s raw concrete structure.
general design completed the project for every day is the day, a creative agency that was founded in 2017. no walls or fixed partitions are found throughout the interior, which is filled with gentle natural light. all objects in the office — including abundant greenery, antique sofas, and a large oak table — are intended to enhance creative communication. ‘our design conceived a space one has never experienced before without a sense of novelty,’ say the architects.
