*레드 앤 소방서 [ Compagnie O Architects ] Puurs Fire Station

소방서가 추구하는 첫번째 목적은 지역주민들의 안전과 이 안전을 책임지기 위한

신속한 대응에 있습니다. 앤트워프와 브르웨 사이에 위치한 프루지방에 설치된

소방서는 이러한 모토를 건축에 투영함으로써 건축적 심볼과 랜드마크를 보여줍니다.

간결하며 기능적인 공간구조를 감싸고 있는 반투명 재질의 폴리카보네이트는

소방서를 대표하는 강렬한 레드를 돋보이게 하는 주된 마감재료로써

소방서 입면에 사용됩니다. 특히 기동훈련을 위한 막타워 또한 상징적인 볼륨의 형태로

폴리카보네이트로 마감처리 됨으로써 이와같은 랜드마크화를 이어갑니다.

합리적이며 기능적인 공간은 크게 3개의 구역으로 구분되어 집니다.

메인 베이와 소방차 대기주차를 위한 메인 홀 영역과 60여명의 소방대원이 생활하는

리빙스페이스와 체육시설 및 관리사무실, 그리고 마지막으로 전체 소방서의 유틸리티를 담당하는

창고 영역으로 구분됩니다.

A fire station in Puurs, a town between Antwerp and Brussels, is intended to be a symbolic landmark for safety and agility.

‘The station is built on a plot next to the highway, emphasizing one of the key points in the design: speed,’ says architect Francis Catteeuw of Compagnie O Architects. Beside the main building, which spans 2160-sq-m, a large white hose-drying and practice tower reaches upwards with an opaque white façade.  

With a crew of 60 firefighters working in station, efficiency and cleanliness were key design elements. The interior hardly resembles a stereotypical ash-filled fire hall; instead, sleek lines and glossy floors define travel routes with bold graphic patterns. The hall is divided into three zones: the main bay and vehicle parking, a ‘living area’ with gym and administration, and an equipment storage space.
