*오목한 백색 큐빅 그리고 컨퍼런스 센터 [ estudio barozzi veiga ] auditorium in aguilas, spain

스페인 아길라스에 위치한 새로운 컨퍼런스 센터는 주변환경을 건축물에 투영, 엘레강스하면서도 자연적인 디자인을 구사한다. 내부에 프로그래밍된 대형 오디토리움과 소극장 그밖에 부속시설은 건축볼륨을 정의하는 주요한 수단으로 이제 건축물의 외형은 백색의 거대한 집합체로 규정된다. 여기에 도시가 위치한 지리적 특징; 굴곡이 많은 지형적 특징과 수없이 밀려오는 파도가 형성되는 파도는 그러한 백색 입방체를 오목한 서피스들의 집합체로 발전시킨다. 내외부의 긴밀한 관계는 이렇듯 건축 외피를 디자인하는 모티브로 건축컨셉의 지향점을 또렷히 표현한다.

a conference center constructed in aguilas, spain seeks to provide a natural and elegant response to the building’s environment. ‘auditorio y palacio de congresos’, designed by estudio barozzi veiga, features a large auditorium as well as smaller theaters and other ancillary facilities. the resulting structure, a large white cubic volume, is a simple, yet robust solution shaped by its internal functions.

elevations facing the town are disciplined and ordered, reflecting the more rigid and formal nature of the urban landscape, while large concave façades oriented towards the coastline respond to the more natural and fluid features associated with the region’s topography. consequently, the project is able to respect its environment whilst contributing towards it.
