베트남의 풍부한 자연환경, 그리고 이를 함께 공유하기 위한 호텔-숙박시설을 비롯한 다양한 레크레이션 공간과 휴양시설을 구비한 프로젝트-  프로젝트의 첫번째 단계, 손라 레스토랑이 750석 규모로 오픈한다. -하노이에서 차로 산길을 따라 7시간은 가야하는 깊은 산속에 자리한다.- 지리적 특징은 주변환경과의 조화를 위한 지역자원 및 재료의 사용; 대나무와 석재의 사용으로 공간을 생성시킨다. 거대한 대나무 홀을 포함하는 8개의 빌딩 조합으로 구성되는 석재 구조물은 주변에 위치한 버티컬 랜드스케이프를 투영한 대나무와 함께 건축을 완성한다. 식당홀 지붕 및 건축물 내부를 덮는 'lung' 지붕 그리고 이를 지지하는 96개의 대나무 기둥은 그렇게 건축적 어휘를 통해 재해석된 자연으로 내외부 구분없는 연속된 시퀀스를 연출시킨다.

situated within a region of vietnam that boasts mountainous landscapes and untouched forests, vo trong nghia architects has completed the first part of a new hotel complex – a dining facility capable of seating 750 guests. the son la province is only accessible from hanoi by a 7 hour car trip along precarious cliff roads. consequently, the project utilizes local resources and materials, such as bamboo and stone, to finalize the design.

known as ‘son la restaurant’, the scheme is composed of eight separate buildings connected with an open air bamboo hall. the stone structures provide multiple entrance points to the dining room, while the various heights of the trees at roof level offer a vertical landscaped view from the outside.

the dining hall’s roof is made from ‘luong’, a local bamboo capable of growing to a height of 8 meters. envisioned as an indoor forest, the canopy is supported by 96 columns that each comprise four clustered vertical shoots. shear loads induced on the structure are braced by ten layer crossed bamboo beams that are connected to the stone framework.
