*갤러리 하우스 [ Kouichi Kimura Architects ] Framing House in Shiga, Japan

일본 건축가, Kouichi Kimura 최근작 프레밍 하우스는 정제된 미니멀리즘과 주변환경을 및 생활을 투영한 감성적인 공간을 지향한다. 일본 시가현, 주거단지에 자리한 필지는 도로와 도로가 만나는 교차점에 위치한다. 인상적인 풍모; 내부 기능과 공간을 고스란히 투영한 정제된 볼륨과 이를 표현하는 블랙 스틸 외장재로 하우스는 첫인상을 이야기 한다. 건축주의 요구조건; 갤러리는 1층을 구성하는 주요한 테마로 이를 하우스와 구분짓는 긴 복도를 통해 왼쪽과 오른쪽, 공용과 사적공간의 구분 중, 오른편에 자리한 공용공간을 책임진다.

하우스의 주출입구인 동시에 갤러리와 하우스를 구분짓는 긴 복도는 대형 개구부를 통해 두개의 공간을 하나로 연속시킨다. 복도 끝자락에는 공간의 구두점을 찍는 작은 중정이 나무 한그루와 함께 자리한다.

실제 거주공간은 갤러리 상부에 위치한다. 주인침실, 거실, 주방, 아이를 위한 작은 방(어린 자녀를 위해 벽면에 그래픽화된 곰이 그려져 있다.)과 거실과 작은 방사이를 연결하는 복도에 커튼으로 가리워진 창고; 수납장과 옷장이 자리한다.

A recently completed project by the studio of Japanese architect Kouichi Kimura reflects the stark minimalism and sensibility for the nuances of domestic life the studio is so well-known for.

Occupying a street corner plot in Shiga, Japan, the Framing House stands out for its black-coated steel exterior and elaborate geometric volume, dictated by its internal functions and layout. The client’s request to include a gallery for exhibiting art in the house was a demand which the architect was more than happy to fulfil resulting in the ground floor housing a private/public space comprising an internal courtyard adorned with a single tree and elongated corridor that opens directly onto the street, with the gallery space on the right and the house’s main entrance on the left. The large openings on both sides of this entrance corridor cleverly connect the gallery with the living areas, thereby allowing the residents ‘‘to feel the atmosphere’’ from the two spaces.

The actual house sits atop the gallery, and includes a master bedroom, living room, kitchen, and a small room for the client’s child with a painted bear on the wall (the only dash of colour in the entire living space) which is connected to the living room through an elongated ‘‘closet’’ offering ample storage space behind its white curtain. Minimal shapes and furnishings, unconventionally placed light apertures and a well-thought use of colour are combined throughout to create a serene atmosphere, whilst revealing a sensitive and poetic approach to interior architecture and design.
