전체 외형은 마을풍경의 시간을 고스란히 유지, 내부는 심플한 우드패널 마감과 목재 구조재 사용, 두개의 건물은 우드팀버와 글래스로 이루어진 브이태리 북부, 중세시대의 역사적 시간을 고스란히 간직한 한적한 시골마을을 여행합니다. 밀란 지역건축가, vudafieri-saverino partners 가 최근에 완공한 16세기 건축물은 과거의 시간과 현재의 생활을 연결하는 중간지점에서 재조정됩니다. 콘크리트 기초를 바탕으로 심각하게 훼손된 기존 헛간과 마굿간의 주요 구조물은 새롭게 (돌로 축조된 외형을 그대로 유지한채) 구축되며, 거주자를 위한 전원주택으로 리모델링 됩니다. 침실과 욕실이 위치한 지면층과 거실과 주방이 위치한 메자닛으로 구성된 내부는 따뜻한 감성과 과거의 시간을 자연스레 연결하는 우드플라이로 마감, 하우스를 완성합니다.
milan-based vudafieri-saverino partners has
completed the restoration of a 16th century stone masonry villa in
the small medieval town of crana in northern italy. the structure
consisted of a barn and stable, semi collapsed and in need of
significant structural repair. after repairing the crumbing
walls with a reinforced concrete foundation, the new building houses a
bedroom and bathroom on the ground level and a living room, kitchen, and
mezzanine level with space for two additional beds.

upon completion, the client purchased the adjacent building which was in decent structural condition. while both of the constructs maintain the original look and construction of the village, both homes are now connected a markedly contemporary bridge of wood and glass. the interior tells an entirely different story from the rustic exterior. a palette of matte finish planks of timbers define various surfaces in the house, from treated plywood sheets to 6″ ship-lap siding, to a refurbished wooden floor made from reclaimed beams.
