수년에 걸쳐, 하노이는 깊은 숙고없이 즉흥적으로 개발이 진행되었고, 튜브형의 집이 오늘 날에도 유행하는 스타일이 되었다. 집들은 서로 나란히 세워져 있으며, 사이에는 좁다란 골목이 깊이 있게 자리잡았다. 전형적인 튜브 모양의 집 안에는 건축업자의 경험이나 구두로 전해진 설계로 디자인되었으며, 집 중앙의 층계와 두 개의 침실이 양 면에 놓아진 형태를 하고 있어 채광은 형편없다.
지금 보는 집도 그저 그런 하노이의 전형적인 집이었다. 그러나 설계와 건설을 통해 집에 대한 첫 인상은 깔끔함과 내부를 전체적으로 통하는 햇살이라는 느낌을 줄 수 있게 되었다.
젊은 건축가들에겐 매번 다른 프로젝트를 접하면서 문제를 해결하면서 집을 통해 서로 다른 느낌을 경험한다. 또한 공간을 즐길 수 있도록 고객들을 만족시키고 아무리 작은 프로젝트에서도 영감을 얻을 수 있다.
Over the years, Hanoi has been spontaneously developing and tube house has become a popular style in this city: the houses stand beside each other, deep in narrow alleys, layer like sardines. The typical tube houses “designed” by word of mouth or based on the experiences of the builders, with “stairs in the middle, two rooms on two sides”, which always have poor lighting, lack of ventilation with high humidity, are too familiar with most people living in urban areas of Vietnam.
