The designers at Studio Weave were asked by the London College of Fashion to give new life to the forgotten rooftop deck area they have that sits high above Oxford Street.
They did this by using the a multi-colored basketweave pattern which was inspired by textile history, which is fitting given its location.
The budget for the space was limited, and as the designers only had access to a tiny elevator in the building, they chose to use standard decking boards which they stained in bright and fun colors.
In some sections, the pattern rises to create space for planters and benches, making it a great place for relaxing and learning during the school year as well being able to be used as an event space.
