due to the sloping site, the architects have designed the building to step into the contours of the land. on the lower floor, the commercial wine tasting room can be found, while the couple’s house is located on the upper level, affording them greater privacy. the plan has also been envisioned to allow for integration of the spaces and the extension of the residence to a third floor, giving the project an element of adaptability.

the new intervention is characterized by the concrete blocks that make up the primary structure of the building.large, deep-set windows puncture the volumes to bring in natural light and ventilation and offer views over the urban landscape. the north-western façade is also noted by the use of pergolas and brises-soleil, which work to protect the interior from the hot sun while also breaking up the dense grey concrete exterior.

inside, the concrete structure is exposed throughout the spaces, creating an honest architectural expression.elements of wooden furniture contrast against the grey palette and bring an element of warmth to the spaces. the main living area of the house also opens out to a large terrace, giving the residents a tremendous view and blurring the boundary between indoor and outdoor space.
