공원 속 집
오이겐 볼츠 학생 기숙사 증축 건물은 로텐부르크-슈투트가르트 교구가 새로 세운 집이다. 건물이 선택한 자리는 아름다운 도심 공원 한가운데다. 건물 몸체는 거의 열린 기단부 위로 가볍게 떠 있다. 그것은 단순한 건축적 선택이 아니다. 종교와 교파를 초월해 모든 이를 품겠다는 이 집의 정신이, 구조 자체로 말을 건네는 방식이다.

나무를 닮은 설계
설계의 출발점은 나무의 형태다. 풍경은 사방으로 막힘 없이 흐르고, 시선은 어느 방향으로든 자유롭게 뻗어나간다. 지면에서 들어올린 주거 층들은 충분한 프라이버시를 자연스럽게 확보한다. 공원의 수목 캐노피 사이로 빛이 스미고 바람이 지나며, 그 안에 더없이 풍요로운 일상이 깃든다.

콘크리트와 목재의 대화
지상 층에서는 점처럼 배치된 기둥들이 연속된 천장 슬래브를 받치며 하나의 거대한 테이블 구조를 이룬다. 이 콘크리트 테이블이 상부 네 개 층의 목조 주거 공간을 위한 견고한 기반이 된다. 이 같은 건물 구성은 목재 박스 유닛을 기반으로 한 모듈식 프리패브 시스템에 최적의 토대를 마련한다.

The expansion of the Eugen-Bolz student residence is being built by the diocese of Rottenburg Stuttgart and is located in the middle of a beautiful urban park.

The building is raised above an almost open plinth, expressing the openness of the house itself, which is open to residents of all religions and denominations.

There is no barrier to the spatial flow of the landscape and the visual relationships on all sides. The design idea evokes the form of a tree. Freed from the earth, the residential storeys gain maximum privacy and a wonderful living quality among the park's tree canopy.

On the ground floor, a continuous ceiling slab with point like columns forms a table construction. The concrete table forms the basis for the four residential levels above in wood.

The building typology offers the ideal conditions for a modular prefabricated system based on wooden boxes.
