*콘크리트 박공 하우스 주거 패러다임의 변화를 이야기 하다 [ urban architecture office ] FKI house

에프케이아이 하우스는 도쿄의 전형적인 폭이 좁고 긴 대지위에

자리잡고 있습니다. 대부분의 건축물이 목조건축인 주거지역과는 상이한

콘크리트 볼륨은 하우스의 아이텐티를 더합니다. 이러한 대조적인 이미지는

콘크리트가 주는 물성의 차이일뿐 이지역의 일반적인 타이폴로지를 따라갑니다.

-대부분의 주변 목조건축물이 박공지붕 입니다. 여기 하우스 또한 심플하며

정갈한 마무리로 박공지붕을 콘크리트 슬래브로 구축합니다. 또한 외형적 스케일과

형태도 마찬가지 입니다.- 이것은 주변환경에 놓여진 어반 컨텍스트를 끊지 않고

이어주는 동시에 하우스만의 캐릭터를 구축하는 양자의 길을 선택합니다.

그리고 또하나 재미있는 점이 이 하우스의 캐릭터를 분명히 합니다.

주거의 일반적인 공간배치에서 퍼블릭 스페이스의 위치는

저층부에 위치하여 공간을 연결합니다. 그리고 이러한 연결성과 접근성은

프라빗 스페이스를 버퍼링 해주는 필터존 역활을 수행합니다. 하지만 여기 하우스는

이러한 공간적 배치를 수직으로 뒤 바꿈으로써 거주자의 효율적인 공간적 활용을

꾀합니다. -이것은 저에게도 비슷한 상황인 것 같습니다. 집에서의 주 생활공간은

메인침실이 아니라 거실공간입니다. 침실은 잠을 자기위해 찾는 공간이지 더이상의

공간은 아닙니다. 여기 하우스의 거주자도 마찬가지 인 것 같습니다.

이와같이 주 생활공간을 상층부로 위치하여 공간의 쾌적성을 최대로 확보합니다.

-하우스 파사드에 나 있는 커다란 사각 창문을 통하여 유입된 대량의 빛은

상층부에 위치한 거실과 주방 그리고 식당의 다양한 활동공간을 보장하여 줍니다.-

공간에 일반적인 정답은 없습니다. 대지와 주변상황이 다른데 모든 조건을

같다는 상황에서 동일한 공식을 적용하는 것이 오히려 그릇된 해답 찾기 일 수도 있습니다.

콘크리트의 물성이 주는 차이보다 공간적 위계가 주는 차이가 재미있는

하우스 입니다.

situated on a narrow site in tokyo, japan, the 'FKI house' by japanese firm urban architecture office finds itself amongst a residential district of ordinary wooden structures. the concrete volume contrasts and emerges from the mundane suburban backdrop, featuring a wood grain texture to respond to its surrounding context. the external form maintains the gable roof typical of the area, instead finishing the smooth surface with clean corners and edges. square oriel windows project from the facades, introducing natural daylight into the kitchen, living and dining areas on the upper level.

the main entry leads to a ground floor bedroom, enclosed with a rounded concrete wall. a poured-in-place stairway leads to the elevated common areas which use diverse floor heights to accommodate the activity of the inhabitants. strategically placed,  it serves as a flexible surface for seating, resting and working for dwellers.
